Iris flower, Earrings

"What in your life is calling you... when all the noise is silenced and the wild Iris blooms by itself in the dark forest... what still pulls on your soul?" - Rumi 

The Iris flower, named after the Greek goddess of rainbows, is a personal favourite flower of mine from my youth, when our garden bloomed with a burst of the richest blues, yellows and violets during the summer. It reminds me of my early artwork, when I spent hours painting these intricate petals. 

In the Victorian language of flowers these flowers inspire faith, wisdom and valour, in the recipient due to its links with nobility and the virgin Mary due to the spear shaped leaves that pierce Mary's heart in catholic imagery leading this flower to sometimes be called the "sword lily" even though in technicality these beautiful flowers are not even lilies. 

Irises are a flower of individuality, divinity and inspiration, inspiring many artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keefe and (evidently) yours truly. For me, these flowers are the flower of awakening creativity, a spark of enthusiasm that is contagious.

. Handmade clay earrings, I create the stamps for these pieces by hand and use them to replicate my designs as clay reliefs, in small batches. After a lengthy drying process, each piece is hand-painted and coated with a waterproof finish. .Hypoallergenic earring hooks, made with sterling silver (S925) allowing for a flexible hook and an anti-allergy trait that should be ideal for sensitive skin.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

All jewellery is sold unworn and disinfected for the safety of our customers and clients, however, we recommend cleaning your earring hooks before wearing them for the first time as per our care instructions provided, and as follows: 

.Clean earrings by placing/holding hooks only in mildly salted warm water for 3 minutes and then rubbing them gently with a cloth, the pendant of the earring is highly water resistant, however warping can occur if submerged for a long period, the pendant can be wiped clean with a lightly damp cloth. 

.Our sterling silver earring hooks are made of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper allowing for the malleable ability, However, the copper can react with ozone and hydrogen sulfide in the air causing tarnishing

. Perfumes, hairspray and sweat can also speed up tarnishing 

. Store in a dry jewellery box and out of the open air for long periods to prevent tarnishing for a longer.

. Clean regularly as mentioned above for the best results. 

Please be aware that we cannot accept returns on earrings due to hygiene concerns, however, a refund can be arranged if damage is incurred during transit or up to 2 weeks after purchase.
